Socorro Adventure Day 2: Finding Balance

Funny how my husband would always push me, mmm, the correct word is, FORCE me to do something more with my life.

He says I am wasting my time with Facebook, and he isn't delighted with that!

He's got this big belief in me that I could be so much more and do so much more. In his mind, I need to do something now. I need to stop procrastinating and just push myself to the road less taken.

Of course, I resist.

But, due to a change of heart...

We are here at Socorro, NM for 5 days (my family's with me because of free housing) to commence my becoming a graduate student of New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. It feels like home!

Maybe, the passion for learning and learning some more, is just within me! I loveeee it!

So, back to my story. I was burning my eyebrows last night because of too many write-ups!!! (plus Facebook! lol) and went to sleep like 1 AM already.

I woke up to a big breakfast of fried rice, eggs and sausage! Hehe

My husband prepared it all (one time, he did tell me that the reason why he won't cook was because he wasn't happy doing that, it was real EFFORT for him) and this morning, he did just that - on his own volition or will!

Now, think about that?!!!

Maybe, just maybe... The universe has found the downward force of my husband to find its balance with the upward force my resistance.

Bottom line? Everyone's happy! Lol!

Laughing Matter!

Every time I speak, I would hear them laugh.

Classroom Teacher No More!

School year 2011-2012 has ended. I remember writing Believing is Seeing, first quarter of the school year.

Believing is Seeing!

"No Filipino" Party

I've mentioned in my post Kaibigan sa America  that I would rather be with Filipinos than be with OTHER RACES during free times, weekends, holidays and socials. If given no choice but to socialize with them, I feel safer if there are other Filipinos in the room with me.

Coming here, I've become anti-social in a way! LOL!

Pink Slips!!!

Was it a curse or a blessing?

THE STORY: Evey year I change schools since coming here in the USA!

1st Mid/High School taught.

**Ring!
Other Line: "Hi, ... we'd like to interview you for a position..."
Me: "Huh? Why? I remember signing a contract for the next SY with my school..."
Other Line: "No, you were in the surplus list.."
Me: "Huh?, will it be alright if I call you right back, let me just verify with the district..."

Family Fun at Audubon Zoo

The family adventures in New Orleans begin!

Here are some photos when we visited the Audubon Zoo in 2008.

Audubon Zoo has become one of the Gulf South's favorite family gathering spots, one of New Orleans’ best family attractions and home of one of the most impressive wildlife collections in the world.

Audubon Zoo is part of the Audubon Nature Institute, which also manages the Aquarium of the Americas.

The zoo covers 58 acres (23 ha) and is home to 2,000 animals. It is located in a section of Audubon Park in Uptown New Orleans, on the Mississippi River side of Magazine Street.

The zoo and the park are named in honor of artist and naturalist John James Audubon who lived in New Orleans starting in 1821. (Information from Wikipedia)

I was just so happy to be with my family again - that my photos were all on them!

Here's my family :)

Coming to New Orleans - Canal Street

Let me take you to the HEART OF NEW ORLEANS - Canal Street!
Still, a lot would take the bus as a form of transportation.
 ...but most, prefer to walk!
This is the downtown, the center of New Orleans.. where a lot of things are going on!
For one, remember "There's just one more reason to love New Orleans!" advertisement in the airport/luggage section? well, that's HARRAH's New Orleans Casino

Coming to New Orleans - The House!

Let's go home.
Here are the houses near our street - in the Mid City - New Orleans.

My Vision Board

Being a visual learner, what helped me and is still helping me remember what I want in my life is through vision boards!

Back in Lucena, Philippines prior to the USA opportunity, (and I blogged about it on my other blog My Dailies-entitled Powerful Thoughts) I would really cut out magazines, pictures, photos and words with emotional impact on me! - and make a collage out of it!

Here are some!

This one I created back in 2008 just because I was so eager for my family to join me already!
